We’re currently looking for a motivated and capable Power Station Operator-Maintainer (Mechanical) to join our team at the Kundana Power Station, located just 20km west of Kalgoorlie. An ideal position for a Kalgoorlie resident. DIDO on a work-life-balanced roster.

About The Role

Reporting to the Area Manager based in Perth, you’ll work within a small, collaborative team responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the power station.

This role combines operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, preventative, and breakdown maintenance across power station assets.
  • Carry out light project improvement works and equipment upgrades as directed.
  • Complete accurate operational records, reports, timesheets, stocktakes, and parts ordering.
  • Prepare maintenance and performance reports, including recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain power station facilities, plant equipment, and site housekeeping standards.
  • Attend after-hours callouts and respond to operational faults and breakdowns when required.
  • Support safe work programs and maintain compliance with company safety and Fitness for Duty policies.
  • Coordinate and maintain site parts, materials, tools, and equipment inventory.
  • Perform Mechanical maintenance tasks and assist with mechanical works when required

    About You

    You’re a proactive and safety-focused Mechanical tradesperson who enjoys working independently and being part of a close-knit operational team.

    To Be Successful, You Will Have

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ post-trade experience in heavy industry environments
  • Demonstrated experience in engine rebuilds, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
  • Experience working in remote locations
  • Proven experience with stationary power generation systems
  • Gas engine and gas system experience is highly regarded
  • Strong knowledge of fuel systems and reciprocating engine repairs
  • Proven capability in operating and/or maintaining power generation equipment
  • Competent in the use of Pronto CMMS or similar maintenance management systems
  • Sound computer literacy skills, including MS Excel, Word, and Project
  • Strong report writing, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Commitment to complying with all HSE requirements and procedures     

Qualifications and Licenses

 

  • Mechanical / Heavy Diesel Fitter trade qualification
  • Current valid driver’s licence
