Field Service Technician – Mechanical
FIFO 2:2 Roster | Remote WA Power Stations | Permanent Full-Time
Looking for a hands-on mechanical role where no two swings are the same?
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician – Mechanical to join our Maintenance team and provide hands-on mechanical maintenance support across our remote power generation sites throughout Western Australia
About the Role
Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of Zenith's power generation assets. Working on a 14 days on, 14 days off FIFO roster, you will carry out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, troubleshooting and equipment overhauls on power generation equipment and associated systems.
This is a dynamic field-based role that will see you working across multiple operational sites and collaborating closely with site teams, contractors and customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Execute planned mechanical maintenance activities on power generation equipment and ancillary systems
- Respond to breakdowns and perform fault-finding, diagnosis, and repairs
- Complete engine rebuilds, servicing, and equipment overhauls
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Supervise contractors and support personnel when required
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Zenith's HSE and environmental standards
- Contribute to a safe, incident-free workplace
- Provide relief Power Station Operator support as required
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment reliability and availability
About You
You are a safety-focused mechanical tradesperson who enjoys working in remote environments and takes pride in delivering high-quality maintenance outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Mechanical Trade Qualification
- Minimum 2 years' post-trade experience
- Experience with engine rebuilds, diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- National Police Clearance
- Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical
Highly Regarded
- Power generation or stationary engine experience
- Remote field service experience
- Fuel system overhaul experience
- Gas engine and gas systems experience
- Experience using Pronto CMMS or similar maintenance management systems
- Forklift Licence
- High Risk Work Licences
- Working at Heights, Confined Space and Advanced First Aid certifications
