Rivervale - WA

Zenith Energy is one of Australia’s leading Independent Power Producers, specialising in tailored remote off-grid power generation and urban microgrids.

Zenith is in a continued growth phase, and we are building the financial planning and analysis function that will support it. This is an opportunity to own FP&A outright - the models, the systems, the standards, and the reporting that goes to the Executive and the Board - working directly with the General Manager Finance.

Job Description

Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Zenith Energy | Rivervale, Perth WA

  • Own budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
  • Turn operational data into insights that influence Executive and Board decisions.
  • Shape FP&A capability through better models, systems and reporting.

Help shape the financial decisions behind Zenith Energy’s future.

We are looking for an exceptional FP&A leader: hands-on enough to build the models themselves, commercial enough to see what is driving performance before it shows up in the numbers, and confident enough to tell senior leaders what the business should do about it.

Someone who will replace manual effort with automation and dashboards, set the standards the function runs on, and give management insight it can act on rather than commentary on what has already happened.

Based at our Rivervale head office and reporting to the General Manager Finance, you will lead a Financial Analyst and partner with leaders across Operations, Projects, Corporate Development and corporate functions.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building capability, challenging assumptions and translating complex financial information into practical business decisions.

About the role

You will take ownership of financial planning and performance analysis, connecting operational drivers with financial outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading annual budgets, periodic forecasts and longer-term planning.
  • Developing financial models that link operational assumptions to revenue, costs, headcount, cash flow and profitability.
  • Using scenario and sensitivity analysis to assess proposals, risks and strategic options.
  • Explaining performance variances and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Preparing concise reporting, commentary and presentations for senior leadership and Board-level audiences.
  • Developing meaningful KPIs that connect operational performance with financial results.
  • Partnering with business leaders on cost management, resource allocation and commercial decisions.
  • Improving FP&A processes through automation, dashboards and consistent reporting standards.

About you

You combine strong technical capability with commercial judgement and the confidence to constructively challenge senior stakeholders. You can work through complex data, explain what matters and help leaders act on it.

You will bring:

  • A degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, with CA or CPA qualifications.
  • Significant FP&A experience, including ownership of end-to-end budgeting and forecasting in a complex business.
  • Demonstrated success building or transforming FP&A processes, models and systems.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with a strong understanding of the relationship between profit, balance sheet and cash flow.
  • Experience preparing and presenting analysis for Executive and Board audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • The ability to prioritise effectively in a changing environment.

Experience in energy, resources, infrastructure or another capital-intensive sector will be highly regarded, along with exposure to private equity reporting, planning system implementation or ERP improvements.

What We Offer:

  • Opportunity to work on one of Australia's largest renewable energy infrastructure projects.
  • Competitive remuneration package.
  • Permanent full-time employment.
  • Discretionary bonus scheme.
  • Up to 8 weeks paid parental leave.
  • Novated leasing options.
  • $4,000 employee referral bonus.
  • Study Support Program and ongoing career development.
  • Free Employee Assistance Program for you and your family.
  • Opportunities to grow within a rapidly expanding business.
