Job Description

About the Role

Zenith Energy is seeking a dynamic Accounts & Payroll Manager to oversee our Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions. This position reports directly to the Financial Controller and is responsible for driving efficient, accurate, and compliant financial processing while implementing scalable solutions to support business growth.

As a newly created position, the role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining streamlined policies and procedures, ensuring that shared services operate smoothly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain streamlined policies and procedures for payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable  
  • Review and approve payroll processing and reports to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Oversee the timely processing of fortnightly payroll for all employees.
  • Accurately apply awards, PAYG, superannuation, and workers' compensation.
  • Oversee accounts payable processing ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Manage accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
  • Provide reports to senior management to support financial decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement and digitization.
  •  Maintain precise data in the Pronto ERP system.
  •  Prepare and review reports for audits and statutory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing the necessary documentation and responses.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks within the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll processes, implementing best practices.
  • Build a high-performing team focused on accuracy, compliance, and customer service.
  • Lead the team by motivating, setting clear priorities, and fostering continuous learning and development.

What We Are Looking For

  • At least five years of finance or accounting experience, focusing on payroll and/or accounts.
  • Proven experience in management positions with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Pronto.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and enhance efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of modern awards, payroll tax, superannuation, and related legislation.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.
  • A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field is desirable.
  • Familiarity with TOKN.
  • Being up to date on industry best practices and emerging technologies would be helpful
