About the Role
Zenith is currently looking for a qualified and motivated Technical Services Electrical Technician with a valid WA Electrical License to join our Technical Services Team. Reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager, the ideal candidate will play a vital role in the team by developing and managing Inspection Plans (ITPs) and Inspection Test Reports (ITRs). Manage the lifecycle of ITPs and ITRs, including updates during project phases and final document control, ensuring seamless integration and compliance. The selected candidate will work closely with Zenith’s Engineering team, providing valuable input into the design and commissioning of control systems to ensure they align with functional descriptions and project requirements.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Working closely with the engineering team to develop and review control system designs, including wiring schematics and communication layouts, ensuring they meet project requirements.
- Assist in selecting hardware components for optimal performance and reliability
- Support commissioning by overseeing integration, testing, troubleshooting issues, and verifying compliance with quality standards for successful implementation.
- Analyse operational and commissioning data to investigate and resolve complex faults in power generation systems and related equipment.
- Collaborate with Operations to provide technical assistance, ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.
- Assist in developing and delivering training programs for Operations and Maintenance personnel, emphasising control system operation, testing procedures, and compliance with OEM recommendations and functional descriptions.
- Provide timely and accurate feedback, reports, and technical recommendations to senior management regarding system performance, commissioning progress, and any issues related to control systems and associated equipment.
- Assist in updating and creating company-wide procedures and documentation, ensuring that lessons learned from commissioning and operational activities are captured and integrated into standard practices.
About You
As the Technical Services Technician, you will have the following Skills, Experience, and Knowledge to bring to the role.
- A minimum of five (5) years of post-trade work experience in the power generation industry.
- Demonstrated strong technical knowledge related to power generation systems and controls
- Proficient in the format and content requirements of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Inspection and Test Reports (ITRs).
- Experienced in reviewing and interpreting electrical schematics.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Advanced proficiency in reading, writing, and math.
- Accurate typing skills.
- Highly organised with strong administrative abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong customer service skills, effectively engaging with diverse clients.
- Valid WA Electrical Licence.
- Experience with PLCs, networking, and IT.
- Familiarity with battery energy storage systems and large-scale solar systems, as well as knowledge of high-voltage networks, is desirable.
- Power Generation training and formal training in PLC programming would be beneficial.
