About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Power Station Supervisor to join our operations division. This full-time, permanent position is a FIFO (Fly-In, Fly-Out) role based at Jundee Gold Mine, with a 2/2-week roster. Western Australia residency only.

The Power Station Supervisor reports to the Area Manager and is responsible for overseeing the power station's daily operations. This includes managing safety protocols, collaborating with stakeholders, conducting maintenance, and serving as a point of contact for clients. Additionally, the supervisor will supervise staff, ensure procedure compliance, and facilitate professional development.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Collaborate closely with planners and the Area Manager to coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring optimal scheduling and resource allocation to minimize downtime and maximise efficiency.
  • Conduct testing of control systems.
  • Perform fault finding, troubleshooting, and routine and breakdown maintenance as needed.
  • Attend the power station after hours to address faults or breakdowns as required.
  • Oversee the development of Safe Work Instructions (SWIs) and risk assessments, actively contributing to improving site procedures and protocols.
  • Manage verification of competency (VOC) assessments and facilitate ongoing training initiatives to enhance team proficiency.
  • Mentor staff to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Manage staff rosters.
  • Assist with end-of-month billing and reporting tasks to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • In the absence of the Area Manager, serve as their representative and cover for them during leave.

About You:

As the Power Station Supervisor, you should possess the following experience, skills, and qualifications for the role:

  • A minimum of 8 years of post-trade experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience operating and/or repairing power generation equipment in heavy industry.
  • FIFO (Fly-In, Fly-Out) experience.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate others effectively.
  • Recognised trade qualifications in either an electrical or mechanical discipline.
  • Open class (non-restricted automatic) WA driver’s license.
  • Supervised gas work training.
  • High-Voltage Switching Certificate (for electrical personnel only).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adept at problem-solving and implementing practical solutions.
