Job Description

About the Role

Zenith Energy is seeking a Senior Joint Venture Accountant to play a crucial role in managing the financial integrity of a new joint venture (JV) between Zenith Energy and a prominent mining company. This position involves ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, and compliance for the JV. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting knowledge and highly developed stakeholder engagement skills.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare, review, and analyse monthly JV financial results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and JV agreements.
  • Manage the end-to-end accounting for the JV. 
  • Prepare quarterly and annual JV reports, management reports, and statutory submissions.
  • Prepare and issue JV cash calls and manage the JV bank account.
  • Oversee invoicing to/from JV participants and ensure accurate, timely settlement of balances.
  • Monitor JV performance against budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and insights.
  • Ensure compliance with tax obligations.
  • Maintain strong internal controls over JV accounting, reporting, and treasury processes.
  • Manage external audits for the JV, including planning, coordination with auditors, provision of information, and ensuring timely completion of audit requirements.

What We Need from You

  • An accounting qualification. - CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in financial accounting, with prior exposure to joint ventures being highly regarded.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Experience in the mining, energy, infrastructure, or capital-intensive industries is desirable.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Experience with the Pronto ERP system is desirable.
